Mission and Purpose

The mission of the Business Administration Department is to prepare students for professional careers in business or for graduate studies. This preparation involves a curriculum which stresses analysis and communication, emphasizes both theory and practice, and is shaped by the needs of the business community. The Department fosters close ties with the corporate community which provides a wealth of practical expertise, a variety of internship opportunities and future job prospects.
The faculty believe they can best serve both the student and the community by providing an education that is technically competent, ethically based, and socially aware.

Certificate Programs

Certificate programs offered in the Department of Business Administration are designed to meet the needs of working people looking for specific skills to help them in their job or to pursue a new career. Certificates are offered in information technology, business management, and business finance through the Weekend College program

Study Abroad

Also available to students are opportunities for international study, actively supported by international business faculty and provided through Augsburg's International Partners and through Augsburg Abroad. Many students have successfully completed major courses as well as core requirements abroad in several different countries.

Internships

Students are strongly encouraged to work with Augsburg's Center for Service, Work, and Learning and department faculty to obtain an internship during their junior or senior year.  Internships can provide valuable experience in competing for jobs after graduation.
