Athlete Lauren Chezick is successful in the classroom
and on the ice
Lauren Chezick has rewritten the record book
for women’s hockey at Augsburg College.
In her four-year career, Chezick set new school
records for career points (137) and assists (82),
while standing second in school history in career
goals (68) in 102 career games. She also set single-season
school records for points (57) and assists (32)
in the 2002-03 campaign as part of the top scoring
forward line in school history.
A three-year captain on teams that qualified
for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
playoffs each of her final three seasons, Chezick
became just the sixth women's hockey player in
conference history to earn first-team All-MIAC
honors all four years of her career. Chezick earned
MIAC Player of the Year and American Hockey Coaches
Association Division III All-American honors in
2002-03.
Chezick was also a success in the classroom
at Augsburg. A pre-law/communications major and
one of Augsburg’s Honor Athletes in 2005,
Chezick earned Dean's List honors five semesters,
Academic All-MIAC honors three times and the Augsburg
women's athletics Joyce Pfaff Academic Award three
times. She earned American Women's Hockey Coaches
Association Division III National Scholar-Athlete
recognition and CoSIDA Academic All-District honors
twice each.
