Food Distribution and Education Internship

Job duties:

  • Running at least one shift every week at our community partners
    • Brian Coyle Community Center: M-Th, 3-5:30
    • Senior Meal Deliveries: Th 11-1:30
  • Work 6-10 hours a week
  • Leading and training new student volunteers who assist with shifts
  • Managing food and material inventories
  • Promoting the program to interested individuals and organizations on campus
  • Maintaining and compiling accurate records of the work we do
  • Plan and lead at least one educational opportunity during a meal shift (e.g., nutrition education, food justice discussions, cultural exchanges, etc.)


  • Active drivers’ license and comfortable driving in south Minneapolis
  • Ability to lift large boxes and pans of food
  • Adherence to food safety and operation procedures (our full training program can be seen at
  • Ability to thrive without direct supervision and guidance at all times
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Somali language skills a plus (for Brian Coyle shifts)
