FACULTY - Kenneth S Kaminsky
Professor
Before coming to Augsburg, Ken Kaminsky taught mathematics and statistics in colleges and universities in both the United States and Sweden. He is founder and editor of the department’s newsletter L’Augarithms, now in its 23rd year, and is Augsburg’s liaison with ValuPak University’s Professor Fogelfroe. His book, Financial Literacy: Introduction to the Mathematics of Interest, Annuities, and Insurance, written originally as a text for Augsburg’s Math of Interest course, was published in 2003 by University Press of America. A second edition is forthcoming.
Ken’s wife, Amy, is a Professor of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Minnesota. They have two children. Jonathan 31, is currently a freelance journalist living in Palau, and writes for the Associated Press. David, an ethnomusicologist, is 34, is currently teaching in the Department of Music at Harvard.
Ken’s non-mathematical interests include table tennis, music, movies, eating out, languages, and riding his motor scooter.
