“I have very high expectations of my students, and that they will rise to meet those expectations. I am very challenging, but fair. I will spend as much time with a student as needed. I feel a close personal connection with faculty is the best recipe for success and I truly try to facilitate that type of relationship with my students.”
Bridget, at Augsburg since 1994, said the Psychology Department prepares students well for life beyond Augsburg. Students are given many opportunities to be involved in research. So whether a student is interested in graduate school or the world of work, they are well prepared to succeed when they leave Augsburg.
“I love psychology because it is applicable to everything we do. I teach about psychological theory/research and I stress their applicability.”
She and her husband have just co-authored a textbook in cognitive psychology, in which they try to emphasize the importance of both research and application. Bridget works for the MS Society and is very active on its committees.
