FACULTY - Nancy K Steblay

Professor

Nancy Steblay joined the Augsburg College faculty in 1988. She said the faculty are committed to helping students succeed and that the psychology curriculum provides a solid foundation of knowledge and skills, but also distinctive experiential components afforded by the College's location in the city and by the expertise of the faculty.

"The department's mission and curriculum have been influenced by three important components: guidelines of the American Psychological Association as to the content and skills required to prepare students for the professional community; recommendations of Project Kaleidoscope and the National Science Foundation regarding the means to achieve exemplary science education through a research-rich learning environment; and the mission and rich tradition of Augsburg College as a College of the Lutheran Church in the city."

The College has orchestrated its distinctive quality by joining these national standards of best practices in science education to our unique departmental and institutional resources.

"The combination of high quality teaching, the enormous resources of the city, and an expectation that each of us can make a difference in the world affords a powerful educational experience."
