Associate Professor; Production Program Director
Michael first arrived at Augsburg as a student in the fall of 1981 from Lawrence Academy in Massachusetts, having been drawn to Augsburg’s connection to the city and its small, yet vital theatre program. After graduating from Augsburg, Michael completed his graduate work at the University of Minnesota specializing in scenery and lighting design and worked professionally at a variety of area theatres including The Guthrie Theater and Penumbra Theater, as well as The Utah Shakespeare Festival. Michael joined the Augsburg faculty in 1990 and is extremely proud of the many opportunities for current students and looks forward to the continued growth of the department. When not teaching the design and technical classes, Michael serves as Chair, Production Program Director, Designer, and Technical Director.
