Commencement announcements inform relatives and friends of your graduation. Each graduate will receive five announcements free from the bookstore. Additional announcements can be purchased from the bookstore, during regular bookstore hours or at the Grad Fair. Personalized announcements require a three-week order time.
The announcements received from the bookstore are NOT tickets to the ceremony. Tickets must be requested using the Ticket Request Form and will be mailed to you.
Tickets for Commencement
Because of limited seating, each candidate is allocated up to five guest tickets. Please thoroughly read the information on the ticket information page and then indicate the number of tickets needed on the Commencement Participation and Ticket Request Form. All guests including infants and children need a ticket. Please see the Tickets section for more complete information.
Students may request up to five “Extra Tickets” to the ceremony on the Commencement Participation and Ticket Request Form. These tickets are NOT guaranteed and will be filled on a first-come, first served basis as tickets are available. Please see the Tickets section for more complete information.
Seating for Disabled and/or Elderly Guests
The majority of available general admission seating is on bleachers. However, reserved seating for the disabled and elderly is available on a first-come, first-served basis on the main floor. One family member may sit with the disabled or elderly guest(s). Please see the Tickets section for more complete information.
Signing for Hearing Impaired
Sign interpretation for graduates or guests with hearing impairments will be provided for both commencement ceremonies. Please contact the CLASS office at 612-330-1053 if you will require access to this service.
Seating for Graduates with Special Needs
If you or any of your guests will require special accommodations for seating during your graduation ceremony, please contact the CLASS office at 612-330-1053 and they will work with you to ensure that you are taken care of.
We encourage all students requiring special seating to attend their respective rehearsal so that seating can be pre-arranged and set up for you and anyone that will need to be seated with you during the ceremony.
Seating begins at 9:45 a.m. and the ceremony begins at 11 a.m. Please see the Event Details page for a complete schedule of events for your ceremony.
Arrangements have been made for GradImages, a professional photography service, to take your photo as you receive your degree. Free proofs will be mailed to your permanent home address after Commencement. You may then choose to purchase prints directly from the photography service. Please note that you are under no obligation to order.
Visit the Grad Images web site to pre-register for photography at the May 4 ceremony.
