General Information for Guests |
|
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Each graduate can receive five announcements free from the bookstore. Additional announcements can be purchased from the campus bookstore, during regular bookstore hours or at the Grad Fair. Personalized announcements require a three-week order time.
TICKETS FOR COMMENCEMENT
Because of limited seating, each candidate is allocated up to five guest tickets. Graduates should thoroughly read the information on the ticket information page and then indicate the number of tickets needed on the Commencement Participation and Ticket Request Form. All guests including infants and children need a ticket.
EXTRA TICKETS
Students may request up to five “Extra Tickets” to the ceremony on the Commencement Participation and Ticket Request Form. These tickets are NOT guaranteed and will be filled on a first-come, first served basis as tickets are available.
SEATING FOR DISABLED AND ELDERLY GUESTS
The majority of available general admission seating is on bleachers. However, reserved seating for the disabled and elderly is available on a first-come, first-served basis on the main floor. One family member may sit with the disabled or elderly guest (s).
SIGNING FOR HEARING IMPAIRED
Sign interpretation for graduates or guests with hearing impairments will be provided for both commencement ceremonies. Please contact Sadie Curtis at 612.330.1749 if you will require access to this service.
CEREMONY SCHEDULE
Seating begins at 10 a.m. and the ceremony begins at 11 a.m.
PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Arrangements have been made for Chappell Studios, a professional photography service, to take photos of each graduate as they receive their degree. Free proofs will be mailed to the graduate’s permanent home address after Commencement. The graduate (or you) may then choose to purchase prints directly from the photography service. Please note that you are under no obligation to order.
Students should visit the Chapell Studios web site to pre-register for photography at their ceremony.
PERSONAL CAMERAS AND CAMCORDERS
You and your guests are welcome to bring personal cameras and camcorders to the ceremony. However, you will not be allowed to be in the aisles where graduates are processing during the conferring of the degrees.
