Faculty/Staff Info

FACULTY
Augsburg faculty are encouraged to attend each graduation ceremony and march in the processional to show support and encouragement to the graduates.

Faculty Participation
Faculty that wish to march in the ceremonies should fill out the faculty participation form that you will receive in early April.  On the day of the ceremony, all participating faculty should meet in the Sateren Auditorium Lobby at 10:15 a.m.  At approximately 10:45 a.m. the faculty will move and line both sides of 7 ½ street to congratulate the graduates as they process into Si Melby Hall.  The faculty will follow the graduates.  Reserved seating has been arranged at the front of the hall for all participating faculty.

Departmental Receptions
All faculty at the ceremony are asked to greet graduates in their discipline after the ceremony at individual departmental receptions, which run from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.

Fine Arts:  TV/Film Studio
(Art, Music, Theatre)

Humanities 1:  Foss Center Atrium
(American Indian Studies, Communication Studies, English, Women's Studies)

Humanities 2:  Old Main Lobby
(History, Languages and Cross-Cultural Studies, Medieval Studies, Philosophy, Religion)

Professional Studies:
Business: Lobby/ Adeline Johnson Conference Room, Oren Gateway Center
Education and Health/Physical Education:  West Commons, Christensen Center
Social Work: Marshall Room, Christensen Center

Natural Sciences and Math:  East Commons, Christensen Center
(Biology, Chemistry, Compuer Science, Math, Physics)

Social Sciences:  Cooper's Coffee Shop, Christensen Center
(Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology)

Physician Assistant Studies: Lower Level, Anderson Hall

STAFF
There are MANY volunteer opportunities available each day, and we encourage all staff to consider volunteering for a shift. Positions include ushering, taking tickets, and crowd management.   If you’re interested in volunteering for the event, please contact the Event & Conference Planning department at events@augsburg.edu or by calling x1104.

A limited number of tickets are available to staff members that are not volunteering.  These tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be reserved by contacting Event & Conference Planning at events@augsburg.edu or by calling x1104.
