True community engagement is more than reaching out to the community. It's also about opening your doors and inviting the community in to give an equal exchange of learning. Augsburg is committed to celebrating and sharing our common resources with our neighbors. The Community Garden is another gateway into Augsburg's campus and a beautiful, interactive space to gather in the warmer months.
Built on Augsburg's commitment to ecological stewardship, there are plots open to neighbors, faculty, staff, and students for individual use as well as plots reserved to teach local youth and college students alike about local food and organic gardening.
Various faculty are planning curriculum for the garden, and surplus food will be given to the Campus Kitchen at Augsburg College.
