Center for Teaching and Learning - How Can I Contact My Students?
You can email all of the students in a particular course by using the Quickmail tool in Moodle. Here’s how:
- Open a web browser such as Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari
- Go to the Inside Augsburg webpage at the following web address: http://augnet.augsburg.edu/index.html
- Log in to Augnet Services in the left column with your AugNet username and password. If you do not know your Augnet username or password contact your Liaison for computing.
- After successful login, click on the link for My Courses (moodle). The main moodle screen will appear.
- Select a course from your available courses by clicking on the blue course title link.
- When the course page appears, look for the Quickmail block in the left column of the course page.
- Click the blue Compose link. The Quickmail window will appear.
- Next to the To: field click the link for Select All to email the entire class or select individual students by clicking in the box next to their name.
- Type a subject and message body for the email. You may compose the message directly in the window or copy/paste from a word processing program
- NOTE: Augnet Services have a time out feature which automatically logs you out of services after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- You may add an attachment to your message by clicking the Choose or Upload a file button. You will be prompted to locate the file on your computer which you wish to attach to the message.
- Click the Send Email button when you have completed the message.
