Center for Teaching and Learning - Moodle
What is moodle?
Moodle is the online course management system used for all Augsburg courses. A Moodle website is automatically created for all courses offered by Augsburg. Faculty and students are automatically added to courses based on information from Agresso, our student and financial management system.
Quick facts about moodle
Eight things you can do with the Moodle site for your course (there are many more than eight but this should get you started)
- Post your course syllabus
- Provide links to important websites for your students
- Link to YouTube videos
- Email all of your students from one location
- Create an online forum (or discussion)
- Upload course notes, presentations and audio files
- See your students pictures and begin to learn their names via AugNet Picture Roster. (Note: not all students choose to make their picture available)
- Provide online access to journal articles for your course. See your library liaison for details and assistance.
For additional information about Moodle please contact your Liaison for Computing (LFC) to schedule an overview and answer your specific questions. Online video tutorials from Atomic Learning are also available from on-campus. See the following link for additional information: http://www.augsburg.edu/it/atomic_learning.html
Faculty may also wish to explore the Faculty Demo Course 1.9 which is available from the main Moodle webpage. The link can be found on the right side of the main Moodle site under: 'Welcome to moodle for the 2008-2009 Academic Year.'
