Mid-MN Legal Aid — Serves Minnesotans in 20 counties including Hennepin County. Free and easy online application.  Offers civil legal assistance to low-income people in many areas of law:  evictions and landlord abuse, foreclosure rights, public and Section 8 housing, housing discrimination, denial of public benefits, divorce, child custody and support, domestic abuse, disability, debt collection and unfair loans, immigration, youth- and elder-related issues and more.

Sexual Assault/Stalking/Relationship Violence Legal Support

University of Minnesota Aurora Center — legal advocacy for victims of sexual assault, stalking, and relationship violence (for U of M students and Augsburg University students; Augsburg contracts with the Aurora Center to provide services for Augsburg students).  Advocates can write Order for Protection/Harassment Restraining Order, file them, and attend any hearings with client.   24 hour help line 612-626-9111

Sexual Violence Center Legal Advocacy and Legal Clinic

Domestic Abuse Service Center – Provides help with Orders for Protection and Harassment Restraining Orders. 612-348-5073.  Services people who are victims of violence caused by a family or household member.  This includes anyone who has been the victim of actual OR threatened violence by a person with whom they have had a romantic or sexual relationship, or people who have lived together.
