At Destination: Augsburg (for admitted and deposited Day Undergraduate students) you will get a glimpse of what it’s really like to be an Auggie through an interactive experience. You can choose to take a campus tour; talk with current students, faculty, staff, and recent alums; meet with financial aid; tour the residence halls; explore your future home via city and neighborhood tours; enjoy some great food; and much more!

8:30–9:00 a.m. Check-In – Foss Atrium

9:00–9:30 a.m. History of Augsburg College
Uniquely Narrated by Phil Adamo, Associate Professor and Director of Medieval Studies.

9:30–9:45 a.m. President’s Welcome
President Paul Pribbenow will provide insight on the direction of the college as we prepare for our 150 year anniversary in 2019.

9:45–10:35 a.m. Brunch
Provided by Aviands, Augsburg’s Food Service Provider. Enjoy a wonderful array of food options while joining Augsburg’s Faculty and Staff for good conversation about what the academic and social life is like on campus.

10:40–11:00 a.m. We Are Called
Led by College Pastor Sonja Hagander. Join us for an optional session that will address faith on campus, and the way Augsburg celebrates all people in our daily service.

11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Experience Augsburg
It is our hope that you get the most out of your visit, and there is no shortage of options during this time. If you need advice on where to go and who to see, feel free to ask any of the admissions counselors and we will be happy to give you suggestions.

Destination: Community

Departing from Christensen Center Lower Level

Led by Mary Laurel True, Director, Service-Learning and Community Engagement, Sabo Center for Citizenship and Learning, this excursion takes you into the heart of the Cedar-Riverside district. See for yourself why Augsburg’s diverse location is one of the many reasons students decide to become an “Auggie”.

Destination: Minneapolis
2:00 p.m.
Departing from Christensen Center Lower Level

Do you have a good sense of what Augsburg and the community is like, and now want to see more of this city you will call home for the next four years? If so, join us for this wonderful opportunity to explore downtown Minneapolis with your very own Augsburg faculty tour guide! Limited on a first come-first served basis, Professor Kristin Anderson will lead an excursion to the heart of the city, showing you how easy it is to get around using public transportation. The tour will include a brief showing of our immediate neighborhood, Cedar-Riverside, taking the Blue Line into the city, stopping at Government Center, Nicollet Mall, and a special mini-tour of Target Field, home to our Minnesota Twins.


Zyzzogeton Research Festival
2:00–4:00 p.m.
Oren Gateway Center

After Destination: Augsburg comes to a close, you and your family are more than welcome to stay on campus to further explore what the Augsburg experience is all about. The Zyzzogeton Research Festival celebrates the creativity and scholarship of undergraduate students, and falls at the end of each academic year. The festival is a great way for you to check out the hard work and research current Augsburg students have done this past year as they present their findings.
