Join us for an open house to see what life is like as an Auggie!

At Destination: Augsburg (for admitted Day Undergraduate students) you will get a glimpse of what it’s really like to be an Auggie through an interactive experience. You can choose to take a campus tour; talk with current students, faculty, staff, and recent alums; meet with financial aid; tour the residence halls; explore your future home via city and neighborhood tours; enjoy some great food; and much more!

  • History of Augsburg College by Phil Adamo

9:45 a.m.

  • Brunch with Faculty

10:40 a.m.

  • “We Are Called” hosted by Pastor Sonja Hagander (optional)

11 a.m.–1 p.m.

11 a.m.–4 p.m.

  • Financial Aid Individual Appointments

12 p.m. –1 p.m.

  • Destination: Home Residence Hall Tours

1 –2 p.m.

  • Lunch and Wrap-Up


Off-Campus Excursions (Optional)

2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Augsburg College is a school in and of the city; we are proud of our location and it is a big part of our commitment to experiential learning! We would love to show you and your family around Minneapolis! We offer the following four excursions, register for the one you are interested in; space is limited!

*Please note: Excursions will require quite a bit of walking! Please let us know of any accessibility issue beforehand.


Destination: Neighborhood [FULL]

Tour the vibrant Cedar-Riverside neighborhood that Augsburg is located in. Check out the cultural centers, great eateries, and learn about the history of our neighborhood!

Destination: Arts [FULL]

Visit the legendary First Avenue music venue; get a behind the scenes tour and maybe hear a band do sound check! From there, you’ll get a tour of the Orpheum Theater, where Broadway shows perform in Minneapolis! You’ll see the costume studios, prop rooms, and even get to be on stage!

Destination: Downtown Minneapolis [FULL]

Experience historical pockets of Minneapolis to learn about its history and also get an official tour of Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins!

Destination: Mill City on the Mississippi [FULL]

Take a step back in time to learn about what made Minneapolis such a prominent city! You’ll get a modified tour of the 137 year old Mill City Museum, ending at the observation deck overlooking the mighty Mississippi, Gold Medal Park, and Stone Arch Bridge! Plenty of time to walk around and enjoy the beautiful waterfront area of our city!
