Timeline

It is never too early to begin planning for college. We encourage students to begin visiting our campus as early as tenth grade, and we have several open house options that work well to provide a general introduction to our college. By the time you reach eleventh grade, you will most likely begin to narrow the list of colleges you are looking at. We encourage you to plan an individual campus visit during your junior year, as well as take the ACT or SAT.

As a senior in high school, you are encouraged to apply for admission prior to our December 15 Early Advantage deadline, although we do operate on a rolling admission basis. Once you are farther into the college decision process, you are invited to visit campus again, this time attending classes, meeting with faculty or coaches, and perhaps even staying overnight.

We understand that transfer students come to us at many different times and for many different reasons, so we have developed a page just for you.

If you plan to start in the fall as a first-year student:
December 15, 2007  Early Advantage Deadline*
February 9, 2008 President’s and Fine Arts Scholarships Deadline
February 22-23, 2008 Scholarship Weekend
March 1, 2008 Transfer Early Advantage Deadline (for community college students)
April 15, 2008 Financial Aid Priority Deadline
May 1, 2008 Ethnic Leadership, Legacy, and Regents’ Scholarships Deadline

If you plan to start in the spring of 2008:
September 1, 2007 Financial Aid Priority Deadline
November 1, 2007 Fine Arts Scholarship Deadline
December 1, 2007 Legacy, Regents’, and Transfer Regents’ Scholarship Deadline

Admitted students are asked to make their $150 enrollment deposit by May 1 (for fall semester) or December 1 (for spring semester).

A $200 housing deposit and contract is required to reserve on-campus housing.

* If you apply as a freshman to Augsburg prior to December 15 and are accepted as an Early Advantage candidate, and your enrollment and housing deposits are made by May 1, you will be guaranteed:

• Placement in a College residence hall. (Housing contract and housing deposit are required by May 1.)

• Opportunity to attend the summer orientation and registration option of your choice. (Registration is required by orientation deadline.)

• An additional $500 scholarship each year.

Students transferring from community colleges who are accepted to Augsburg prior to December 15 will receive an additional $500 per year.
