Resident Student

Locked out of your room?

  • Contact Public Safety at x1717 or 612-330-1717. Be prepared to show your I.D.
  • A $20.00 fee will apply per incident and will be charged to your student account.

Lost your key(s) with identification?

  • Go to a Residence life office located in the Urness or Anderson lobby if you believe your room needs an emergency re-key
  • If your access card/fob was with your keys, notify Public Safety immediately.

Lost your key(s) without identification?

  • Contact your Hall Director and advise them that your room needs re-keyed.
  • The fee for replacement key(s) will vary based on the number of keys will need to be cut.

Has your room been re-keyed?

  • Go to the Reslife office located in the Urness or Anderson lobby to collect your new key(s)Be sure to have proper identification with you.

Lost your access card/fob?

  • Go to Public Safety Dispatch located in the Urness Lobby.
  • A $35.00 fee will apply per incident and will be charged to your student account.

Faculty/Staff

Locked out of your office?

  • Contact Public Safety at x1717 or 612-330-1717. Be prepared to show your I.D. when the officer meets you at your office door.

Lost your key(s)?

  • Go to the Public Safety Dispatch located in the Urness Lobby and fill out the lost key form as well as a new key request form.
  • When your new keys are ready, a Public Safety Dispatch will call to let you know. Please bring a photo I.D. when you pick up your new keys.

Lost your access card/fob?

  • Call Public Safety Dispatch at x1717 and request that your access card/fob be turned off. If you find your access card/fob, we can easily turn it back on. Turning off your access is an easy and instantaneous solution to protecting our buildings and the resources within them.
  • If you believe your access card/fob is lost indefinitely, please come to Public Safety dispatch and fill out a new key request form, indicating you need a new access card/fob.
  • A dispatch will call you when your new access card/fob is ready to be picked up.

Need to request new key(s) and access card/fob for a new employee?

  • Come to Public Safety Dispatch and fill out a new key request form for each individual key you are requesting.
  • Make sure the department head signs off on your request forms and then drop them off at Public Safety Dispatch.
  • When your new keys are ready to be picked up, usually within 2 or 3 days, the dispatcher will call to let you know.
  • Please bring a photo I.D. along when you pick up your new keys.

What do I do with keys or access cards/fobs that I no longer need?

  • Turn all keys and access cards/fobs into Public Safety Dispatch.
