FOB ACCESS TO ACADEMIC BUILDINGS
DPS will grant, deny, and monitor access to all academic (non-residential) buildings on campus in order to increase security and ease of access for Augsburg community members – all staff, faculty and students.
Each academic building now has at least one exterior door that is locked and unlocked electronically by a fob reader. Augsburg community members are to use those doors to access the building during the hours between the building being LOCKED and the building CLOSING. Augsburg community members are granted access to all academic buildings until the building closes for the night. The hours each building LOCKS and CLOSES can be found below.
ALL EXTERIOR BUILDING DOORS ARE SET TO UNLOCK AT 6:45AM MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY, AND AT 10AM ON SUNDAYS.
LOCK means that fob access doors are locked and the building exteriors will be locked. At this point, a fob is required to access the building, meaning only Augsburg affiliated individuals will have access. Public Safety officers will do walkthroughs of all buildings to ensure the proper doors are secured.
CLOSED means that the building is closed for the night, and all doors are locked and secured. All those in the building must exit by the building close time, 11:00PM. Fobs do not grant access after 11:00PM except with pre-authorized clearance. Public Safety officers will do walkthroughs of all buildings to make sure all doors are secured and all persons are out of the buildings.
