Department of Public Safety - REGULAR PARKING PERMITS

Semester/ Yearly Permit Registration

Reminders for Everyone

Parking enforcement will begin on the first day of class, Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009.

Enforcement hours this year are 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

You will need to log on to Inside Augsburg to access online registration. If you do not have access to AugNet, or do not know your username/password, please contact IT.

You will need to be registered for classes, and be free of any holds on your account.

You will need a major credit card (Visa or Mastercard) to register and pay for your permit online. You will not be able to complete registration without it. If you do not have access to a major credit card, please e-mail parking@augsburg.edu to make proper accommodations.

You will need full vehicle information (license plate, make, model, year, and color) to complete the online registration.

All persons registering for a parking permit are responsible for submitting accurate personal and vehicle information.

After a parking permit has been given out, Public Safety will charge $30 for its replacement if lost. There are no refunds after 2 weeks of purchase.

Please be aware of the complete parking rules and regulations.

Using the online system for the first time

Open your web browser and go to Inside Augsburg (formerly AugNet).

Login to “AugNet Services.”

Click on “Parking Services” below your name.

On this page, click on “profile” then fill out the registration information and submit it following the prompts on each page. Be sure to fully complete the address and cell phone area as these are required fields and you will not be able to continue without doing so.

Once you’ve submitted the information, you’ll see three highlighted red options. Select “Register/Edit Your Vehicle.” On the next page that opens, click the blue “Add New Vehicle” button. Fill out your vehicle information in the box that pops up, then click the gray “Add New Vehicle” button.

Click the small blue “P” button at the bottom of the page.

Read the parking policies and click “I Agree.” On the next page, click the highlighted red text that lists the permit you want. If no red text appears, permits have been sold out or are not yet available.

Review the information for accuracy on the page that pops up, then click the “Purchase this Permit” button at the bottom of the page.

Finish the process on the next page by making your online payment – this is the only option for buying a permit. A Visa or Mastercard is required. Choose a payment method from the dropdown box, type in the cardholder’s name, then enter the card number, security code, and expiration date. IMPORTANT: Click “Submit Payment Information” ONLY ONCE.

After a moment, a screen will appear and let you know when your payment has gone through. Print this page for your records. You’ve completed the online registration!

Please wait at least two business days after registering, then pick up your permit from the Public Safety window. Please bring a photo ID.

Luther Hall & Oren Gateway Underground

Permit prices:

Luther Hall Underground: $360 per semester, $720 for the year.

Oren Gateway Underground: $400 per semester, $800 for the year.

LHUG and OGUG permits are limited and will be sold on a first-come basis. Luther Hall and Oren Gateway Underground parking is an option for all resident students. If there are still spaces available at the time of your registration, LHUG and/or OGUG will appear as options for the type of permit you are able to choose. The registration process is the same as any other resident permit. Benefits of parking underground are: You will have a reserved space (no one else can use it), your parking area is protected by card access. The parking area is heated during the winter and cool in the summer, your space is never affected by snow removal, and you will have easy indoor access to the Luther Hall or Oren Gateway stairs and elevator (if you are a Luther Hall or Oren Gateway resident) for inclement weather and move-in/move-out.

CITY STREET PERMITS

City street permits are limited and will be sold on a first-come basis.

A limited number of Minneapolis City street permits are available for $25.00 to campus residents who do not own a current Augsburg permit. You do not register online for a City permit. Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on August 24th, e-mail parking@augsburg.edu and cite your permit request. E-mails sent before this will not be valid. Once a valid e-mail is received, the sender will receive an e-mail response and permit instructions.

CARPOOL GROUPS

Permit prices: Will vary based on type of members in the group – cost of one permit is split by total number of group members.

Carpool group permits are very limited and will be sold on a first-come basis.

Commuter students, faculty, and staff have the option of purchasing a carpool permit. Any group (of two or more people) who agrees to have only one of their vehicles on campus at a time may opt for a carpool permit. That group will be assigned one permit to share, and will have a spot reserved for their group in lot L.

To request a carpool permit, please contact parking@augsburg.edu. Once an e–mail is received, the sender will receive an e–mail response and permit instructions within 2 business days.

The benefits of registering for a carpool parking permit are: You will have a reserved space (no one else can use it), it costs less than buying your own permit, you will not have to drive yourself to work every day, and you are benefiting the environment.
