Interim Parking Permits
Interim parking permits are available to faculty, staff, and students who have a registered semester or yearly Augsburg permit, but are unable display their permit on a given day. Students, faculty, and staff will receive three free interim permits per school year; after three, they must purchase a $5 temporary permit through the parking services website on Augnet.
All interim permits are numbered and must be clearly visible/ unobstructed, with the number facing out the windshield of the vehicle. Improperly displayed permits are subject to ticketing.
If you have a registered semester or yearly permit and need a interim permit, simply stop by Public Safety with a photo ID to pick one up. Vehicles parked without a valid permit displayed are at risk for a $35 violation.
Temporary Parking Permits
Temporary parking permits are available to faculty, staff, and students who only need a permit for a short period of time such a few days a semester or a single week during the year. Temporary permits cost $5 per day and are available for purchase only online through parking services. Temporary permits must be paid for by credit card online. Payroll deduction is not an option for faculty/staff purchasing this type of permit.

Temporary permits are to be used in the lots specified and printed on the permit. Commuter students purchasing a temporary permit will park in the commuter parking lots, resident students in resident lots and faculty/staff in faculty/staff parking lots.
Visitor Parking Permits
Visitor parking permits are available to all guests of the college. No current faculty, staff, or student may obtain a visitor permit for his/her own vehicle. Visitor permits are valid for one day only and are valid only in parking lots A and G, or in any campus handicapped space (as long as the user also has a MN State handicapped permit). Visitor permits are provided at no cost except for on Augsburg for Adult class weekends. Hard copy permits are available for you to pick up from DPS anytime, 24/7.
On Augsburg for Adults class weekends, visitor parking in Lot L is $5 per vehicle. Please pay the lot attendant as you enter. You may not request a visitor permit for this lot in advance on Augsburg for Adults class weekends.
You may obtain a visitor permit two ways: Electronically (via e-mail) or in person (via a hard copy picked up at DPS).
Electronic permits are available for you to e-mail or print for your guest at any time. To obtain an electronic permit, please e–mail your request, including date, times, hosting department, # of permits needed, and your contact information, to parking@augsburg.edu. If available, a visitor permit will be e-mailed to you as a PDF. Please allow at least 2 business days for processing.
Hang tag visitor permits are numbered and must be hung on rearview mirror. Electronic/hang tag visitor permits must be clearly visible and unobstructed, with the number facing out the windshield of the vehicle. Improperly displayed permits are subject to ticketing. Visitor permits are issued on a first-come basis, and may be obtained no more than one month ahead of time. No individual or organization may reserve more than 15 spaces for visitors/event attendees on a class day between the hours of 7am- 5pm. An alternative for guests unable to park in Augsburg visitor lots is to park on City streets surrounding campus or in the Fairview University ramp located at 24th and Riverside Avenues (Fairview fees apply to ramp parking).
