Degree Requirements

Licensure requirements are offered at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Classes will include both undergraduate and graduate students, with graduate students having additional course responsibilities. Graduate courses are taken at the 500 level.

All courses must be taken for licensure, and between four and six may also be applied toward the master’s degree in education.

Field experience is required as part of several of the courses. Students in the program who are not already working in a school setting with children with special needs will be asked to spend one half day per week in a setting serving students labeled EBD, LD, ASD, DCD and/or OHD with mild to moderate learning needs.

Candidates must work with k-12 students with the labels above at elementary, middle school and high school levels

Student teaching occurs at the end of the program. Placements are for 12 week, full-time, full-days.
