Joan Griffin has taught at Augsburg College since 1986. Previously, she was a faculty member at Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wis. and Wartburg College.

She primarily teaches medieval literature, Shakespeare, and writing courses, as well as the freshman honors seminar in Augsburg’s Honors Program. She has developed Topics courses on The Heroic Journey and the City in Literature. Her research emphasis is on medieval studies, but she recently has developed informal interests in pre-Colombian Mexico and the history of the Twin Cities.
