CREDIT REFUND POLICY
Augsburg students may be eligible to receive a credit refund check if their financial aid exceeds tuition and fee charges for a term. Financial aid is generally disbursed after the last day to drop courses without record notation:
Changes in enrollment status, housing status, and program status may affect financial aid eligibility and credit refund checks. Students who are enrolled less than half-time (less than 2.0 credits for Day, less than 1.0 credit for WEC/Grad/Rochester) may not be eligible for financial aid; however, students may apply for private alternative loans. Registration changes made from the first week of the term through midterm may require a return of financial aid funds. Students who drop courses may receive a tuition refund, but some forms of financial aid may have to be adjusted before a refund will be available. Return of funds may take 30-45 days.
Will I have a check?
All financial aid must be applied to a student’s account in order for a refund to be available. Students who are awarded and wish to use Stafford loans, PLUS loans, or Perkins loans must apply for these funds in order for them to be disbursed. At the beginning of the academic year, students should apply for the amount needed for the full year; funds will be divided evenly between the anticipated terms of enrollment.
Go to www.augsburg.edu/enroll/finaid to complete the loan application process.
Do I have a check?
Check your Account Activity in AugNet Records & Registration to see if a Credit Refund is posted to your account. Students will be notified about refund check distribution dates through the Daily A-Mail and on the Enrollment Center website.
