Enrollment/Degree Verification

To conveniently serve our students and companies or organizations who need to inquire about degrees awarded or enrollment data around the clock, Augsburg College has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to act as its agent for verification of student enrollment and degree status.

PLEASE NOTE: The enrollment verifications are not available through the National Student Clearinghouse or through the Enrollment Center until after the 10th day of the term.

The National Student Clearinghouse provides instant electronic verification of student degrees and student enrollment to employers, employment agencies, credit card companies, background search firms, travel companies, and various other businesses that offer products or services based on an individual’s status as an enrolled student. (Students cannot use this service).

If sending in a written request, please include an Enrollment Verification Form which can be downloaded here.  You will need to provide all information requested including Purpose of Release. You must sign and date your request.

If you need verification of your enrollment status at Augsburg College, you need to be enrolled for courses prior to requesting enrollment verification for a specific term. Your full-time or part-time status is based upon the number of credits in which you are enrolled. Note that you are considered registered for a term after you have scheduled classes for a specific term. You move from being registered to enrolled after the last day to drop a course without notation.

Please note that the Clearinghouse is not able to process verifications requiring academic (GPA) information. These requests must be processed through the Enrollment Center. A signed Enrollment Verification request must accompany these requests. An Enrollment Verification Form is obtainable here.

Full-time student status is defined as follows
(Note: Courses taken as audit do not count towards full-time student status):
Day student - 3 credits per semester during the fall and spring semesters
WEC student - 2 credits per trimester during the fall, winter and spring trimesters

Half-time student status is defined as follows:
Day student - 2 credits per semester during the fall and spring semesters
WEC student - 1 credit per trimester during the fall, winter and spring trimesters

Student status during summer sessions:
All students (except some PA students):
Full-time status - 2 credits in a summer session (short sessions)
Half-time status - 1 credit in a summer session (short sessions)

PA students in long summer session:
Full-time status - 3 credits during long summer session
Half-time status - 2 credits during long summer session

For Good Student Discounts, you should obtain a good student discount form from your insurance company and submit it to the Enrollment Center. Although most insurance companies require full-time enrollment and a 3.00 or "B" average, the requirements vary slightly between companies. Thus, you will need to submit the form from your specific insurance company since it will specify the requirements for your good student discount.

Augsburg College does not track class rank.
Your grade-point average is rounded to the nearest thousandth, so you must have an Augsburg College GPA of 3.000 or above to be certified as having a "B" average. A 2.999 GPA cannot be further rounded, and does not meet the "B" average criteria.
