Jessica received her Bachelor of Music Therapy degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2007 and her Master of Arts in Music Therapy from Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods College, Indiana, in 2012. She completed her music therapy internship at the University Good Samaritan Specialty Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In fall of 2010, Jessica co-authored and published Guitar Skills for Music Therapists and Music Educators, with Peter Meyer and Erin Ebnet. Jessica began her career in 2007, working for Woodbury Health Care Center as their music therapist and music therapy mentor, creating a National Roster Music Therapy Internship. In 2013, she began her work in hospice. Jessica worked for 10 years at Allina hospice as a music therapist and internship supervisor. She recently transitioned to her new role in the fall semester of 2023 as Clinical Coordinator for the Augsburg Music Therapy Program. Jessica served as the President of the Minnesota Music Therapy Association (2012-2018) and the Professional Advocacy Representative for the GLR region of the American Music Therapy Association (2016-2021.) Additionally, she held various roles for assisting with regional and national music therapy conferences. Jessica presents on a variety of topics regarding music therapy in long-term care, hospice and music therapy advocacy at local, regional and national conferences. She currently resides in the Twin Cities area of MN.
