As a 2007 graduate of Augsburgs MSW program (PDPA), Ericka Kimball is excited to come back as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Social Work. She has been an adjunct instructor at Augsburg since Spring 2010 focusing mostly on PDPA field seminar. At Augsburg, Ericka will primarily teach in the MSW program. Currently, Ericka is teaching Methods I and Skills with Individuals (SWK 505) and Research Methods II (SWK 660).
Ericka is currently putting the final touches on her dissertation that she successfully defended in July at the University of Minnesota. Her dissertation examined the effects of fathers parenting support on parenting stress and family violence. Her research interest focuses on social support for children exposed to domestic violence and the use of technology in social work education, research, and practice. She also holds a BSW from the College of St. Catherine. In addition to teaching at Augsburg College, Ericka continues to practice social work at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
