Janet Gottschall Fried, soprano joined the Studio Artist staff at Augsburg in 1998. Locally she has performed with: Zeitgeist, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, The Minnesota Opera, The Bakken Trio, Shawn McConneloug and her Orchestra, and Duane Schulthess and ICE to name a few. She has performed and recorded some of Jerome Hill’s vocal works, and premiered and recorded many of the vocal works of her husband, composer Phil Fried. Janet and Phil formed Opera Bob in the summer of 2009 for a Minnesota Fringe Festival production, and thereafter Ka-Bob for producing concerts by Janet and Phil focused on new work. Before settling in Minnesota Janet resided in New York City where she divided her focus between new music and opera.
