Timothy Jones

Instructor

Timothy Jones has been teaching literature and writing in the Twin Cities and elsewhere for a quarter of a century. During that time he has read and taught works from nearly the entire historical range and geographical scope of world literature: Akhenaten to Zadie Smith.  But his specialty is the literature of the European Middle Ages and Renaissance.  He has written one book, Outlawry in Medieval Literature (Palgrave, 2010), and edited another, Monsters, Marvels and Miracles (Medieval Institute, 2002). At Augsburg he primarily teaches introductory writing courses, but he frequently teaches Shakespeare elsewhere in the community and can be persuaded to speak at length about Robin Hood. Once upon a time he wrote a poem that won honorable mention in a very minor competition.
