Matthew P. Wilson

Matt Wilson is active as a freelance horn player in the Twin Cities. He regularly plays with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and the Minnesota Opera Orchestra. Matt has recently been guest principal horn with the Florida Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, and South Dakota Symphony. He has also been a sub for the Colorado Symphony and the “Phantom of the Opera” Broadway touring company. Matt received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern College in Roseville, Minn. and his masters of music degree from the University of Minnesota. While studying, he also played with the Rochester (Minn.) Orchestra for three years, two years as principal horn.

He is currently a professor at Minnesota State University, Gustavus Adolphus College, Northwestern College, and Augsburg College.

Matt, his wife Jenny, and children Corene, Ava, and Isaac live in Minneapolis.
