Randy Winkler received his bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas where he double majored in theatre and biology. He went on to receive his PhD in theatre direction from Union Institute and University in Cincinnati. He has taught courses in acting, directing, dance, script analysis, theatre history and criticism, auditioning, and movement for actors. At Augsburg, he teaches Introduction to Theatre and Creative Dramatics and is also involved with productions, most recently having directed and choreographed “Anything Goes.” Winkler is still very active in professional theatre and he directs and/or choreographs several shows each year. He has received awards for both his acting and his choreography. During the summer months when he is not teaching, he is a landscape designer. He spends his summer weekends on his cabin on Lake Vermilion with his three dogs, and his dream is to retire near Poipu Beach on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
