Fine Arts Scholarship - Film
The Fine Arts Scholarship in Film is awarded by Augsburg film faculty to incoming first-year and transfer students who have excelled in film production and demonstrate exceptional potential in film.
To be considered for a Fine Arts Scholarship in Film, applicants must:
- Complete online Fine Arts Scholarship in Film application (below)
- Submit a film résumé
- Create film/video reel (Submit URL or mail DVD)
- Obtain teacher recommendation

Amount: $3,000 per year for Fine Arts Scholarship, one Director’s Scholarship for $5,000
Priority Deadline for Application: January 18, 2013.
Final Deadline for Application: January 31, 2013
Scholarship Weekend: February 22 & 23, 2013
In order to audition for a Fine Arts Scholarship, you must first be admitted to Augsburg College and plan to be a full-time student seeking your first bachelors degree. Students currently enrolled at Augsburg College may not apply. Scholarship recipients need not major in Film, but must participate in film crews, attend film festivals on campus, and assist with editing labs on campus. RESUME
List significant activities, roles, accomplishments, and awards in the format outlined below. List your activities in order of significance (most significant activity to less significant activity). Include the following information about each area of activity:
- Activity name and dates active (fall, summer, etc.)
- One-sentence explanation of your participation
- Roles you played (producer, director, actor, set designer, camera, etc.)
- Awards or other recognition of accomplishment
Examples:
Documentary film, fall term, 2010.
Produced and directed documentary on immigration in the Twin Cities in digital video. Submitted to X Film Festival. Won Honorable Mention.
Cinematographer, winter term, 2009.
Worked with director to create shots, scouted locations, and did own lighting for interior and night shots. Shown at school assembly.
CREATE FILM/VIDEO REEL
Create and submit a film/video reel on DVD that is an example of your best work. It should not be longer than 15 minutes. You can submit a URL or upload a video file in the online application. A DVD can be mailed to:

TEACHER RECOMMENDATION
