Claussen’s interactive exhibition investigates issues surrounding the border between public and private spaces.  In particular, the artist is interested in the role that technology plays on a national and international level as it erodes the distinction between public and private.  Viewers to the gallery space will be asked to describe and design borders in response to prompts that the artist provides in the form of printed media and three-dimensional models.  By writing about or drawing these borders the visitors and the artist will enter into a dialogue with one another that will continue throughout the run of the exhibition.

An MFA recipient from the University of Minnesota, Claussen is currently assistant professor of art at Northwestern College in Roseville.  Her installation work has been exhibited most recently at Intermedia Arts.
