Each year up to two students assist the galleries coordinator in all aspects of running the Augsburg art galleries. Students learn how to install and de-install art, refurbish galleries between shows, write press releases, design and distribute publicity materials, and host receptions and other special events. On average students work four or five hours per week except during show change (twice in the fall and three times in the spring), when students work 20 to 30 hours repairing and reinstalling the galleries and helping with the opening receptions.
At times more work study students are needed to serve as gallery guards for special exhibitions. When such needs arise a job posting will appear on the Human Resources office and website and an announcement will be made in the Daily A-mail.
