Galleries and Exhibits - Fine Arts Keystone Exhibition: Crossing the Street
April 3 – May 3, 2009
Gage Family Art Gallery
Augsburg College
In fall of 2008 the students in Augsburg’s Fine Arts Keystone Course produced a collaborative, multi-media project titled “Crossing the Street.” The Keystone class, taught by photography professor Susan Boecher, aims to bring both practical skills and vocational goals together for art, music, theatre, and film students.
The project “Crossing the Street” began with a series of neighborhood meetings to gather research and compile data about the East Riverside neighborhood. Students then created art pieces respective of their discipline and worked with Minneapolis Art on Wheels to project the piece on the Augsburg campus on November 4, 2008.
This exhibition will include continuous viewing of the video that the class produced along with the original paintings, drawings, photographs, and graphic work that is featured in the video.
Participating students include: Sophia Albarran, Amanda Bartos, Amanda Chmiel, Nicole Coutris, Billy Helm, Suzie Juul, Jonny Knoll, Melissa Ludwig, Tim Mauritz, Ian Nancekivell, Dan Schai, Kelley Schreiber, Jesse Seward, Travis Skoog, Femi Solaja, Tony Wallin, and Kelly Wolfe.
All events are free and open to the public.
