Augsburg College has a vision for a dynamic multi-functional green space that deepens the student, faculty, and community experience through hands-on education, research and recreational programs, serving as a sustainable anchor for our urban environment.
With recent and upcoming changes to our urban context, Augsburg is entering a new phase in its own planning. The College’s urban identity will be realized both on the ground and through Augsburg’s continued
commitment to faith, education, sustainability, and community leadership.
Surface parking lots give way to new academic facilities and functional campus green space. Neighbors are invited to engage with the campus community through events, in on-campus community gardens, and along the campus walks that converge at Murphy Park. Vehicular access remains open through campus — alongside a more safe and enjoyable pedestrian environment.
The tree planting plan for the Hagfors Center construction site has been approved by the City of Minneapolis. The trees selected for this plan represent a variety of native species and will be planted in summer 2017. The tree colors in the plan represent the fall color of each species.
