Direct action strategies:

Direct action strategies are, at times, necessary to bring public attention to issues that government leaders, the news media, or key business stakeholders do not wish to acknowledge.  Strikes, workplace occupations, and sit-ins are all examples of direct action strategies.  So are candlelight vigils, rallies, marches, and filling public hearings with vociferous advocates.  Because direct action can involve civil disobedience, make sure to learn about the legal ramifications of your actions and your legal rights prior to participation.
