The mission of the Center of Concern is grounded in shared Religious Social Values and the challenges of Catholic Social Teaching. It emphasizes solidarity with those in poverty throughout the world. The Center’s main focus is social justice and the transformation of inequitable structures and systems. The work of Center of Concern during the past several years has been directed at analyses of globalization through the lenses of gender, class, and race, with a concern for human rights, especially economic and social rights. Working with a wide range of networks and coalitions, the Center contributes to international policy discussions and promotes people-centered economic development through education and advocacy. The Center reaches out to faith-based communities, churches, and schools; to grassroots groups and other non-governmental organizations working for the common good; and to members of the international women’s movement committed to justice for all women, their families, and communities.
CRISPAZ was founded in 1984. It is a faith-based organization dedicated to the mutual accompaniment with the church of the poor and marginalized communities in El Salvador. In building bridges of solidarity between communities in El Salvador and those in its home countries, it strives for peace, justice, and human liberation. As an organization, it is politically non-partisan and committed to nonviolence.
Founded in 1946, CWS is the relief, development, and refugee assistance ministry of 35 Protestant, Orthodox, and Anglican denominations in the United States. Working in partnership with indigenous organizations in more than 80 countries, CWS works worldwide to meet human needs and foster self-reliance for all whose way is hard. Within the United States, CWS assists communities in responding to disasters, resettles refugees, promotes fair national and international policies, provides educational resources, and offers opportunities to join a people-to-people network of local and global caring through participation in CROP Hunger Walks, the Tools & Blankets Program, and the CWS Kits Program.
ELCA Global Mission is the channel through which the ELCA expresses itself in mission throughout the world. It sees itself to be an interdependent part of the whole church’s mission in the world. With this, ELCA Global Mission engages the members and resources of the ELCA in mission around the world through involvement in evangelism, witness, education, promotion of justice, service, relief and development.
Friends for a Non-Violent World’s mission is to end the occasion for violence. It provides tools, training and opportunities for people to take leadership in creating a non-violent society. It draws from Quaker traditions and affirms the dignity and self-determination of each person, promoting non-violence as a powerful means to accomplish all just ends.
The mission of the Batahola Norte Cultural Center is to live a style of life which is more congenial and just, according to the gospels, and directed towards the poor. By way of culture and an integral education, the Center promulgates human rights, self-esteem, and equality. The Center believes in the empowerment of the person and the value of sharing what we are and have in order to transform this society into the Kingdom of God.
