First Nations Development Institute

Through a three-pronged strategy of Educating Grassroots Practitioners, Advocating Systemic Change, and Capitalizing Indian Communities, First Nations Development Institute is working to restore Native control and culturally-compatible stewardship of the assets they own—be they land, human potential, cultural heritage, or natural resources—and to establish new assets for ensuring the long-term vitality of Native communities.

 

Hindu resources

Hindu American Foundation (HAF)

HAF is a human rights group whose purpose is to provide a voice for the two-million-strong Hindu American community.  HAF interacts with and educates government, media, think tanks, academia and public forums about Hinduism and issues of concern to Hindus locally and globally.  Promoting the Hindu and American ideals of understanding, tolerance, and pluralism, HAF stands strong against hate, discrimination, defamation, and terror.  HAF is not affiliated with any religious or political organizations or entities.  HAF seeks to serve Hindu Americans across all sampradayas (Hindu religious traditions).

 

Sikh resources

Sikh Coalition

The Sikh Coalition’s Community Relations Program interacts with and serves as the representative for the Sikh community with groups outside of the community.  On a grass-roots level, Community Relations members facilitate a meaningful interaction with government, interfaith alliances, social justice groups, non-governmental organizations, and media representing all segments of the Sikh community.  The Community Relations program area is also responsible for coalition building with likeminded organizations and gurdwaras, the Sikh houses of worship.

 

Sikh Council on Religion and Education (SCORE)

SCORE is a faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to creating awareness of the Sikh religion and the Sikh people in United States and around the globe, and to promoting the values of justice, equality, and brotherhood imbibed in Sikh religion.  It aims to provide a platform for interfaith dialogue to create a peaceful coexistence of all faiths.
