Sustainable Development and Social Change in Central America (Offered both Fall and Spring Semesters)

The program starts with an orientation in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
You then travel to the Highlands of Guatemala for further orientation. There you will be placed with a family to live for 4 weeks while you study Spanish on a one-to-one basis
EL Salvador
The group then moves to El Salvador for 4 weeks where they study the role of religion, both past and present, in creating and alleviating social injustice in Central America. The section includes a week-end accompaniment with a resettled refugee community.

Nicaragua
In Nicaragua, students study citizen's participation

As part of your courses you will be required to carry out a research project that integrates your learning throughout the semester. Examples of creative projects include visual presentations, short documentaries, zines, etc.
