I love Cuernavaca. The
academics are great, but I also like going out. Even though it’s
a big city, it seems small because I’ve made friends and run
into them on a regular basis. It seems like I know people
everywhere I go.

Cuernavaca
is a city of almost a million people, and has many modern amenities
and attractive tourist spots. Despite its size, Cuernavaca still
has a small-town feel, and is easy to get around in, whether
walking, taking the bus, or catching a taxi.

Cuernavaca is home to a rich cultural life,
including art, dance, theatre, music, public plazas, and museums.

Local attractions within the Cuernavaca city limits
include the 16th century Cathedral, the Hernán Cortés Palace with
famous Diego Rivera murals, the Borda gardens (former residence of
the emperor Maximilian), the Aztec temple Teoponzolco, the Muros
Museum, that includes an exhibit of Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and
José Clemente Orozco, the home and studio of David Alfaro Siquieros,
the Brady Museum, and the San Antón waterfall.

The city and its neighboring towns have long been
centers for alternative health and healing, drawing from indigenous
and other local traditions.
