Spanish Language Courses

Study Center

Did you know that:

Mexican Spanish is the most common Spanish spoken in the United States, where there are currently more than 20 million people of Mexican descent, making up 64% of the Latino population in the U.S. (according to the 2000 U.S. Census).

Small language classes offer a more personalized learning environment

  • Cuernavaca has long been known as a center for high quality Spanish language instruction with small classes; students come from all over the world to study there.

  • All one needs is the equivalent of one semester of college-level Spanish prior to the beginning of the semester. However, bilingual students or native speakers can also choose from numerous advanced Spanish courses, including Contemporary Mexican Literature, Pre-Columbian, Colonial, and Contemporary Mexican Art, Contemporary Latin American Women, Latin American Civilization and Culture and others.

  • We work with Universal, a high-quality language school near our study center and close to the downtown area, where students participate in diverse classes of no more than six students each.  The school also offers opportunities for private tutoring, specialized classes, or exchanges with Mexican students.  More information about Universal Language School

  • Learn Mexican Spanish from native speakers while on the program (through intensive Spanish classes, homestays, friends, and/or internships).  This makes it easier to communicate with the many Mexicans now living in the United States.

A variety of language courses meet different curricular needs.
