Being green often means thinking beyond your own backyard. It also depends on thoughtful partnership and engagement with neighbors. This interdependency, acknowledged or not, lies at the heart of environmental stewardship.
Emphasizing the ecological connections that bind us all together, Augsburg works to reach out. The Campus Kitchen program shares meals with neighbors while emphasizing care for the environment, and the community serves as a gateway for young and old on the West Bank to join us in stewardship of the land. Hosting an HOURCAR at Augsburg allows us to provide those who live around the University with a reasonable and affordable alternative to individual vehicle ownership. We are also actively involved in caring for the stretch of the Mississippi River that flows near our campus.
