Construction of the Hagfors Center ushers in a new era for Augsburg’s urban campus. Following the strategy outlined in the College’s Campus and Space Master Plan, once the Hagfors Center is complete, additional campus projects will enhance area surrounding the new building and connecting it to the rest of campus. Projects slated for next-phase work or in development include:
- Removal of the existing Science Hall, which will open the green space from the west side of campus through to Murphy Square and Ednor Nelson Field on the east side.
- Converting 21st Avenue between the new rotunda and the freeway wall into a pedestrian space.
- Creating an outdoor teaching environment in the adjacent rain garden and the envisioned urban arboretum.
