In March
Thane Papke ('94) visited the Biology Dept. on his way to a postdoctoral
research position at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada where
he will continue his pursuit of evolutionary studies of microbes.
Thane just finished his Ph.D. in microbiology at Montana State University,
with his dissertation "Biogeography of thermophilic Cyanobacteria
and the importance of isolation to the evolution of microorganisms."
He and his dog, Kuroko, are headed for a visit with another Augsburg
biology alum, David Jensen, M.D., now practicing in the Detroit area,
on the way to Nova Scotia.
