Instructions: Type your name and date in the spaces provided. Next, perform the following operations. Please save and print-out your work. Clearly label your documents.

  1. Using a web browser, go to Google Blog Search: <http://www.google.com/blogsearch>. Google Blog Search allows searching of multiple blog sites, including Blogger, Live Journal, and many others.

Using Google Blog Search, perform a search in order to find a blog of interest to you. Save and print at least one page of your results.

  2. Using a web browser, go to the Minneapolis StarTribune Home Page (http://www.startribune.com). Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the box titled, "StarTribune.com RSS Feeds." Perform the instructions outlined there to link or subscribe to StarTribune headlines on a topic of your choice (news, politics, business. sports, etc.).

As you learned in the lesson, you may either use a web browser (such as Apple's Safari or Mozilla's Firefox) to read RSS feeds, or you may use a special-pupose RSS reader aggregator. If you want to learn more about RSS aggregators, go to Blogspace.com's RSS Info Page (http://blogspace.com/rss/readers) and download one for your use. Otherwise, use Safari or Firefox to read one of the StarTrib's RSS feeds.

Print out at least one page of your RSS headlines.

Note: The URL for the RSS feed will typically end with either ".rss" or ".xml," not ".html."
