Type your answers to the questions in the space provided or on a separate sheet of paper, making sure to use college-level writing mechanics (estimated length, at least 1-2 typed pages, double-spaced). Clearly label your answers. Then print this page and hand-in to the instructor.

Note: Don't miss Question 2 (farther down the page).

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE COMPUTER MAGAZINES OUT OF EDUCATION DEPARTMENT!

  1. Find an article on computers and their use in assisting learning and/or communicating in one of the technology magazines in the Augsburg Library or in the Education Department Suite (next door to my education department office, 3C) or online. A list of some of these magazines is found in the lesson text.

    • Tell me the name of the magazine, title of the article, author, and summarize the content of the article in 3-4 paragraphs. Then continue by discussing...
    • How might this technology change communications and/or performance in your professional setting?
    • What criteria are you using to evaluate the technology or ideas in this article?

2. As I mentioned in the lesson, several magazines are available free (e.g., Technological Horizons in Education Journal [a.k.a., T.H.E. Journal] and Tech and Learning. (Many other magazines are, of course, available for a charge.) Regular journal reading is an important way to keep abreast of the ever-changing area of electronic media. Review a few of these magazines and gather the information you need to request a subscription to one of them.
