EDC 220--Web Page Plan

Template for Web Page Plan: Use this form for your Web Page Plan. it is in PDF format. If you would prefer to draw your own plan, please feel free, just as long as it is legible and accomplishes the main goals listed below.

Your Web Page Plan consists of three main elements:
  1. Visual Plan for your Page/Site: Sketch-out how you want your site to look. What pictures are you going to use? What colors will you select? What fonts/typefaces will you employ? How will users navigate from one page to another? What design elements such as lines, arrows, etc. will you use? Specify anything and everything you plan to do to make your site visually appealing and useful to your audience.
  2. Text Plan for your Page/Site: Describe what you are going to say on your site. What texts will you use (e.g., your resume, a favorite poem, etc.)? To whom is it addressed (i.e., who's your audience)? You should carefully reflect on what you want to say in your site, not only how your site is going to look.
  3. Navigation: How will users move around your site? Is there a prescribed order, or do you want to encourage "hopping" around from page-to-page? Will you have a navigation bar or other site-wide navagation scheme? How will that work?

The Web Page Plan should reflect your "best guess" as to what you want to accomplish on your site, however if better ideas occur to you during the development/refinement of your site, don't hesitate to employ them. No points will be deducted from a web site for not following the plan to the letter.

Also, keep in mind the scoring rubric (on the portfolio tally sheet) as you develop your site. A great deal of skill and work is necessary to develop a 4.0 site, so plan accordingly!
