Facebook Discussion Board Rules

Disclaimer: Those who participate in Augsburg College Facebook discussions do so at their own risk. As a participant, you take responsibility for postings under your identification and use the information on the boards at your own risk. Augsburg College takes no responsibility for the content or opinions posted on our message boards. Please note that Augsburg College Facebook discussions are public. That means people not affiliated with Augsburg may read them. Post personal details and contact information at your own risk.

To Enroll in the Group: To join the Augsburg College Education Department group on Facebook and connect with other students and faculty, past and present:

    • Go to <http://www.facebook.com/>
    • Login or Sign up, then login
    • Search for "Augsburg College Education Department" in the upper right corner
    • Click on the group
    • Click "Join Group" in the list of options to the right

Specific rules are as follows:

  1. Obscene, racist or sexually explicit language is not allowed. We will remove postings that defame or insult anyone.

  2. No solicitations or advertisements are allowed.

  3. You may not suggest or encourage illegal activity.

  4. You must have copyright ownership of all material that you post on Augsburg message boards. That means don't post articles, recipes, song lyrics, art or graphics unless you have the written consent of the of copyright holder.

  5. Augsburg College cannot and does not intend to screen messages before they are posted. However, we do reserve the right to remove at any time a message that violates our policies.

  6. In addition, Augsburg students, faculty and staff agree to abide by the Augsburg College Responsible Use Policy for Computing and Network Resources.

  7. If you see a post you feel violates any of the above rules, please notify <sticha@augsburg.edu> or <lindn@augsburg.edu>. Barring technical difficulties, we will respond within 48 hours.

All in all, participation in these boards simply requires respect and common sense. Have fun!
