The annual Homecoming chapel service celebrates the Distinguished Alumni Award recipients.
11:30am – 1pm Distinguished Alumni Lunch @ East Commons
Students and faculty have the opportunity to meet and celebrate the Distinguished Alumni Award recipients. (this event is by invitation only)
2pm – 3pm 50th Reunion Ceremony for the Class of 1967 @ Hoversten Chapel
3:30pm – 4pm Auggie Talk #1-Hosted by the Class of 1967
Auggie Talks made their debut as a Homecoming event last year. The entire Augsburg community is invited to join us for short and informative sessions presented by professors and fellow alumni on topics spearheaded by class reunion groups.Teaching the bible, Faith and Vocation at Augsburg. Rev. Dr. Phillip Quanbeck Sr ’50 and Rev. Dr. Phillip Quanbeck II reflect on the last 50 years.
4pm – 5:30pm Auggie Hours @ Foss Atrium

Mingle with alumni, faculty, and staff at this pre-reception with light appetizers and drinks before the Distinguished Alumni Award ceremony.

5:30pm – 7pm Distinguished Alumni Awards @ Hoversten Chapel
Homecoming is the time when we honor the contributions and significant accomplishments of alumni and friends with the Distinguished Alumni, Spirit of Augsburg, and First Decade awards.
7pm – 8:30pm Reunion Dinners for the 50-Year Reunion, 40-Year Reunion, 25-Year Reunion, and 10-Year Reunion @ Christensen Center
7pm – 8:30pm Homecoming Dinner @ Christensen Center

For guests not participating in class reunions, take part in this special mix-and-mingle-style dinner with award recipients, alumni, and friends of all ages!

5K open to alumni, students and friends. This event is administered by Residence Life and co-sponsored by ASAC and Alumni Relations. The charge is $5 and all participants receive 5 tickets to Taste of Augsburg. Fun prizes will also be given away for the fastest alumnus and best dressed in Auggie gear!

11am – 1:30pm Taste of Augsburg @ Murphy Park
Bring the whole family and enjoy games, bounce houses, booths featuring food by Augsburg Student Organizations from AASA’s amazing Egg Rolls to the Athletics department’s famous pork chop on a stick there is something for everyone! This is a great way to support Augsburg’s Student Groups!

lead by Joe Underhill, Director of the Nobel Peace Prize Forum, Environmental Studies Director and Associate Professor. A favorite professor at Augsburg, Joe returns to give an Auggie talk this year after a giving a very popular talk last year on the River Semester.

Hear the behind-the-scenes story of “Project Montague,” our internal name for all the work required to change Augsburg College to Augsburg University. The project includes everything from designing new logos with alumnus Samuel Gross ’03 to updating signs and graphics all over campus and beyond, from registering a new trademark to restaining the gym floor, from working with MNDOT on highway signs to telling the world why we believe this rose by another name will smell even sweeter.
