 The
inauguration theme, "Ages of Imagination,"
is found in a poem by William Blake, which imagines limitless
dreams made possible by the power of belief.
Over the four days of inaugural events, Augsburg
will celebrate its calling as a college, imagining its future
around the themes of "AGES"—abundance, generosity,
engagement, and service. A variety of activities will encourage
and involve the Augsburg community on campus, in our neighborhood
and city, around the country, and around the world.
On Friday, Oct. 20, everyone is especially
invited to the Festival Service that will take place in Hoversten
Chapel at 10:30 a.m., with The Rev. Dr. Robin Lovin preaching
and ELCA Bishop Mark Hanson '68 presiding.
The Inauguration Ceremony, open to the public,
will take place that afternoon at 2 p.m., in Melby Hall, with
Bishop Mark Hanson presiding. President Pribbenow’s inaugural
address will be "Thanksgiving." At 3:30 p.m. a Community
Celebration will take place on Urness Lawn.
